So what kind of teacher are you waiting for that you delay putting these principles into practice?” These words were uttered by Epictetus, a Stoic teacher from over 2,000 years ago - yet they ring even more true today than for the ancients. Today we are surrounded by so much information and inspiration, yet so noisy and distracting that we often just feel too paralyzed to begin. The difference between those who succeed in the digital age and those who just sit around consuming content is Focus. In this video, I’ll define what Focus actually is, how it acts as the pivotal element in creating new products and services, and how lack of it leads to failure and perpetual lack of progress - that paralyzed and stuck feeling. We’ll cover questions like knowing what to focus on, managing distractions, prioritizing, and creating time. Epictetus ends with: “Finally decide that you are an adult who is going to devote the rest of your life to making progress. The Olympics have started. Waiting is no longer an option.
